  Dr. Denise Howard was born and reared in USA. She received her B.A. in English and Biology from the University of Mississippi. She then attended the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland where she received a Medical Degree and Masters in Public Health in 1993. Following medical school, Dr. Howard completed a four-year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Pittsburgh\'s Magee Women\'s Hospital in 1997. She then undertook a fellowship in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at the University of Michigan. Dr. Howard remained on faculty at the University of Michigan until 2001 where she was an Assistant Professor, providing care for women with pelvic floor problems, performing clinical research in the areas of urinary incontinence and training residents and medical students.

   

  Dr. Howard was in private practice from 2001 until she moved to Abu Dhabi in 2010. She worked as a Consultant Gynecologist/Urogynecologist at Corniche Hospital until she joined HealthPlus in December of 2011. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Urogynecologic Society, the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons and the International Continence Society.

   

  She is married with 2 children and enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, exercising reading and writing. She has a special interest in educating women and girls about gynecologic health, physical fitness, and nutrition.
